Teriyaki Sauce

I am going to make a grilled chicken salad for dinner and it calls for teriyaki sauce. I didn’t want to go around hunting for it as it is not readily available here so I did the next best thing...I found the recipe and made it at home.

I don’t remember from where I actually took the recipe but here I am merely recording it for my personal use. This sauce can be used in various oriental recipes.


1 cup water,
¼ cup soya sauce,
½ tsp ginger paste,
½ tsp garlic paste,
5 tbsps brown sugar,
1-2 tbsp honey,
2 tbsp cornflour mixed in ¼ cup cold water


Combine all ingredients except the cornflour and water mixture. Heat this mixture. When it is heated through, add the cornflour mixture and stir till it thickens. Bottle when cool.
