Prawn Masala





Ingredients

500 grams prawns (you can use medium sized, small or large prawns),
1 tbsp oil,
3 green cardamoms,
2 cloves,
1 inch piece of cinnamon,
¼ tsp cumin seeds,
2 finely chopped medium-sized onions,
2 chopped green chillies,
2 tsp ginger-garlic paste,
1 chopped tomato (medium sized),
A handful of coriander leaves,
1 tsp coriander powder,
½ tsp turmeric powder,
Red chilli powder to taste,
Salt to taste,
100 ml of coconut milk,
½ tsp lemon juice,
½ tbsp butter

Method
Heat oil in a pan and add the cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and cumin seeds. Once they pop add the onion and fry till the onions turns light brown in colour. Next add the green chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Saute till the raw smell disappears. Then add the chopped tomato and sauté till tomatoes are mushy.

Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, coriander leaves, chilli powder, salt and prawns. Saute for some 5 minutes and add the coconut milk. Cover and cook till done and the gravy is thick. Finally fold in the lemon juice and butter.

Goes well with plain rice.
