This appam was made by one of our close family friend’s. I took the recipe from that aunty and we made it the other day but with one variation, we substituted the sugar with jaggery.


1 cup rice flour,
 ½ cup jaggery,
1 ½ cup coconut milk,
1 tsp green cardamom powder,
1 tsp ghee,
1 tsp cumin seeds


Mix all the ingredients except the cumin seeds and the ghee. Let it stand for half an hour. Smear a flat dish with the ghee. Pour the mixture into this flat dish.

Steam till done. Cool and turn it over onto a plate. Cut into pieces of desired shape and size.
