Baked Bread Rolls

This is one snack you can dish out when you don’t have many ingredients at home and yet want something out of the normal with tea or just as a snack. It will also go well in your kid’s snack box. You can customize it for kids, skip the garlic perhaps.

Ingredients

10 slices of white bread,

Salt to taste,

1 tsp red chilli powder,

10-12 flakes of garlic,

3 tbsp salted butter,

2 tbsp grated cheese

Method

Trim the edges of the bread slices.

Melt the butter. Mix the red chilli powder, salt and crushed garlic cloves with 2 tbsp of the butter.

Apply the butter mixture on the bread slices and roll to form a tight roll. Brush the rolls with the remaining butter and arrange it close together in your baking dish. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the prepared bread rolls.

Cover the prepared rolls with a moist cloth and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven for ten minutes at 190oC. Bake the prepared rolls in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes or till crisp. 

Serve with tomato sauce.
