Rice and Poha Dosa
Soft and fluffy dosas that is what we had
for breakfast today. Since this dosa doesn’t use urad dal it can easily be made
for people who suffer from flatulence or bloating.
Ingredients
2 cups of rice,
1 tsp fenugreek seeds,
1 cup thick poha (beaten rice),
1 cup grated coconut,
1 cup milk,
3 tsp butter milk,
Salt to taste,
A little oil for making the dosas
Method
Soak the rice and fenugreek seeds for about
4 hours. Grind it to a fine paste with the thick poha and the grated coconut.
Instead of water use the butter milk and the milk to facilitate the grinding.
Add salt and mix well. Let it stand overnight to ferment.
The next morning add a little water if
required to acquire a pouring consistency. Heat a non-stick tawa and add a
ladle full of the batter and spread it to make a thick dosa. Dot it with a few
drops of oil. Cover and cook till holes form on the surface. Do not flip the
dosa. Can be served with any chutney or even a curry.
